1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Location: You may optionally provide your zip code to enable weather and exploration quests. This is stored on our servers and can be cleared at any time from your profile.

Information Collected Automatically

• Timezone: Detected at registration to personalize quest timing.
• Quest Activity: We store the quests assigned to you, their content, and your completion or skip status.
• Conversation History: When you speak with the Quest Giver, your messages and the AI’s responses are stored on our servers for the duration of that session. These conversations are also sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate responses.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or any other device permissions.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or sell your data to third parties.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the Quest Giver service
• Generate personalized quests and AI responses tailored to your chosen path
• Deliver location-relevant quests when you provide a zip code
• Maintain your account and quest history

4. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI): Quest Giver uses the Anthropic Claude API to power the Quest Giver character and quest generation. Your conversation messages are transmitted to Anthropic’s servers for processing. Anthropic’s privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy

Railway: Our backend servers are hosted on Railway. Railway’s privacy policy: railway.app/legal/privacy

5. Data Storage and Security

• Your password is hashed using industry-standard methods before storage.
• Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage.
• We use HTTPS for all communications between the app and our servers.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at workdave95@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Children’s Privacy

Quest Giver is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at workdave95@gmail.com to exercise these rights.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
